Welder
Location: Blyth
Contract: Temporary, £17-19.00 per hour PAYE only.
3-6 month with potential of ongoing work.
Key Responsibilities:
Welding of Deep Sea Plough Components: Utilise MIG welding experience to join steel, stainless steel, and other metal components, ensuring strong and durable welds for deep-sea ploughs.
Interpret Technical Drawings: Read and understand engineering blueprints and specifications to determine welding requirements, joint preparation, and welding positions.
Fabrication: Assist in the fabrication of metal parts by cutting, shaping, and assembling steel and other materials as required for the project.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Experience with MIG Welding: Proven experience in MIG welding, particularly on large-scale and complex metal components, including those for marine or heavy-duty machinery.
Technical Welding Knowledge: Expertise in welding techniques, specifically MIG welding, for materials like steel and stainless steel.
Attention to Detail: Precision in welding and measuring to ensure the highest quality and safety standards.
Ability to Read Technical Drawings: Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints for fabrication and welding purposes.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot welding issues and adapt techniques to overcome challenges encountered during the process.
Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety practices in a welding environment, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
Time Management: Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
Desirable Qualifications:
NVQ or City & Guilds in Welding/Fabrication: Formal qualifications in welding or fabrication, especially related to MIG welding.
Relevant Industry Experience: Previous experience working in industries such as shipbuilding, marine engineering, or heavy manufacturing is an advantage.
Working Conditions:
Location: Blyth-based client, industrial/workshop setting.
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday (40-50 hours per week).
