Job Description: The CAD Technician is expected to produce high quality 2D general arrangement and detail drawings, working within the engineering team, to support the operational and commercial sides of the business. Playing a supporting role in live project & tender work and where necessary producing 3D CAD models and renderings. The ideal candidate would have experience using AutoCAD in a working environment, with the ability to visualise and detail concepts clearly and concisely. Key Responsibilities: Playing a supporting role to the engineering team in the production of design drawings for live project work, using AutoCAD software. Supporting the engineering, commercial and operational teams with the production of visually impressive 3D CAD rendered models and presentation standard detail & assembly drawings. Assisting with site surveys and creating detailed, accurate measured building plans, elevations & sections using point cloud data. Reading and interpreting design briefs and structural drawings. Liaising with clients and colleagues at all levels. Updating and maintaining the CAD libraries, blocks and drawing templates. Updating the project management systems and project files. Skills & Experience (Essential): Comprehensive working knowledge of Autodesk software AutoCAD, preferably within the construction industry. Working experience of producing presentation standard visuals. Previous experience of maintaining and updating CAD libraries, dynamic blocks and drawing templates. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with clients and colleagues face to face or over the phone. Ability to work to tight deadlines with good organisational and time management skills. Skills & Experience (Desirable): Experience in the production of 3D CAD rendered models using AutoCAD and Tekla Structures. Experience working with Trimble Realworks and point cloud data. Working knowledge of the construction industry, preferably within temporary works, or desire to learn and develop in the industry. Details of Package: Salary: £27,500 - £37,500. Working Hours; 8.30am - 5.30pm Mon - Fri (1 hour lunch break). Pension contributions after 3 months service. 30 days annual leave per annum, including bank holidays.
