Business Development Manager
Location: Remote (with occasional visits to Gloucester office)
Hours: Full-time
Salary: £50,000+ per annum (depending on experience) + commission + benefits
Key Responsibilities of a Business Development Manager
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities, markets, clients, partnerships, products, and services while maintaining existing relationships.
* Develop and build customer relationships and manage expectations.
* Identify and quantify network operator projects and secure sales orders from telecom network operators.
* Present telecommunications solutions to potential users, proactively showcasing the value proposition.
* Attend industry events and conferences to network and promote products and services.
* Build relationships and stay up-to-date with industry trends, new products, and technologies.
* Create sales forecasts, work towards achieving them, and present updates to the senior management team.
* Actively participate in completing tender applications.
* Deliver sales presentations, both online and in person, to prospective and existing customers.
* Collaborate with the engineering team to find solutions for customer needs.
Key Skills of a Business Development Manager
* Proven track record in business development and sales, ideally within the telecoms sector.
* Strong understanding of the company’s products and industry competition.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
* Strategic thinking with the ability to execute initiatives.
* Solid IT skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical analysis tools.
* Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and motivate oneself.
* Technical aptitude to propose solutions tailored to client requirements.
* Research skills to stay updated with telecom industry standards, trends, and insights.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
* Management experience or a relevant degree (e.g., Marketing, Business Administration).
* Level 2 Diploma in Skills for Business: Sales & Marketing or Level 3 Award in Sales Management.
* 5+ years of experience in the telecoms sector.
