Context for the role:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Actuary to join the IFRS reporting Team. This role will have a blended approach between working from home and one of our offices in Stirling, Edinburgh or Mumbai.
In this role you will support the delivery of accurate and well explained IFRS results. You will be involved in running and maintaining the IFRS17 engine and associate architecture required to produce IFRS17 results.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To support the IFRS17 results production in particular the running and maintenance of the IFRS17 Engine required to produced IFRS17 results.
2. Produced quarterly IFRS17 results from the Engine and analyse and explain movements in liabilities, risk adjustment and CSM as required.
3. Support and define improvements to the IFRS17 reporting process and liaise with IT and other supplier on necessary developments.
4. Work close with Group Reporting and Accounting teams on understanding output from the Engine in relation to liability disclosures.
5. Produce results timely within the Working Day Timetable.
6. Communication of the results with key stakeholders including Senior Leadership.
7. To maintain effective working relationships with other teams in Finance and IT.
8. Other support to Finance reporting initiatives as required.
Experience, Skills and Knowledge:
9. Be a qualified actuary with post qualification experience.
10. Have experience of IFRS17 reporting requirements.
11. Have knowledge of insurance products and systems.
12. Have experience of the production and delivery of financial reporting in a life organisation.
13. Be highly analytical and a skilled problem solver, with a strong commercial mind-set, and the ability to distil complex ideas or problems into simple, effective plans and solutions.
14. Have an ability to communicate effectively and influence effectively with productive, successful relationships with demanding senior stakeholders.
