Wakefield Social Care Direct is the initial point of contact for all adult social care enquires. We have recently integrated with Mid Yorkshires Community Health, Single Point of Contract which creates an exciting opportunity for us to work differently, together to meet the needs of out local communities. We are looking to recruit 4 Social Workers to join our busy team and to contribute to our new ways of working.
At Social Care Direct we interact with people with a range of needs such as physical disabilities, older people, learning disabilities, drug and alcohol use, mental health, and people experiencing homelessness and offending. It is important that you demonstrate how this relates to the Care Act and have good, strength based assessment skills. You will need to provide people with advice and information to allow individuals to remain as independent as possible and to make informed decisions around their care and support needs. The team also considers safeguards under s.42, of the Care Act and make appropriate safeguarding enquiries and risk management decisions. Values are important to us and it is critical that the persons voice is heard and central to the work we do. The successful candidate must have a recognised social work qualification and the necessary SWE registration.
The team works between the hours of 08:00 a.m. and 19:00hrs with some out of hours work.
