We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated, qualified GDC registered Dental Nurse, with recent chairside experience to work within our busy Orthodontic, Outpatient Department. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a progressive and developing environment. We are ideally looking for an individual who would be flexible; you will be based at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, but may be required at times to work at West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven if there is absence within the team.

The Trust will provide a twelve month preceptorship period for all newly registered healthcare professionals.
Healthcare Professionals returning to practice, moving into new roles or changing clinical environments, may access an agreed preceptorship period.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* National Certificate NEBDN or equivalent education, e.g., NVQ Level III Oral Healthcare
* At least one post qualification certificate relevant to orthodontics that will allow utilisation of nurse-led clinics, including but not limited to: NEBDN Certificate in Oral Health, Dental nurse radiography or orthodontic nursing certificate
* Experience of independent working based on protocol or prescription
* NEBDN Certificate in Orthodontics
* Certificate in Impression Taking or equivalent
* Certificate in Clinical Photography or equivalent
* Certificate in PAR calibration
* ILS/pILS or equivalent
Knowledge & Experience
* In-depth knowledge of Oral Health issues, special needs and medically compromised patients
* Skills and training in specialised orthodontic nursing procedure
* Knowledge of use of audit
* Knowledge of outpatient services
* Awareness of Trust procedures
* Awareness of requirements of the post
* BLS certification or equivalent and knowledge of dental/medical emergencies
* GDC code of professional conduct
* Commitment to lifelong learning and personal development plan to demonstrate this
* Knowledge of referral process to Orthodontics
* Understanding of local dental services
* Experience of Multidisciplinary orthodontic care
* Experience working in a hospital setting
