Role Purpose:
Reporting directly to theSenior Maintenance Engineer, the Maintenance Engineer will play a crucial rolein maintaining and repairing both new and existing assets within the terminaland outlying properties. The successful candidate must be a time-served Plumberwith relevant certification and will take a hands-on approach to ensure LBAdelivers an outstanding passenger experience through continuous improvement andmaintenance of current assets.
The Maintenance Engineer willbe responsible for ensuring all statutory maintenance and standards required asa UK CAA Approved Maintenance Organisation are upheld.
Working as part of a smallteam, the post holder will work on a 3 on 3 off shift pattern, consisting of 2earlies (05:00-16:00) and 1 late (08:00-19:00) Candidates must also have theflexibility to be on-call during their shift set for any business-criticalissues and to occasionally cover annual leave.
To access the 'Critical Part'of the Airport, the successful applicant must provide evidence of a continuousfive-year work history, undergo a basic criminal record check demonstrating aclean record, and successfully complete a General Security and AwarenessTraining course.
Role Responsibilities & Main Duties:
1. Install,maintain, and repair piping systems and fixtures related to heating, cooling,water distribution, and sanitation within the airport terminal and surroundingproperties.
2. Inspectionof drainage and other plumbing systems for compliance with local and nationalregulations.
3. Conductinspections and planned maintenance of systems in line with manufacturer’sguidelines and compliance requirements.
4. Participateand provide input in a range of other planned and reactive maintenance tasks,including simple electrical works, joinery, upkeep of baggage handling systems(including motors and belts), and general building repairs/maintenance.
5. Completetasks in accordance with the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) program, aswell as handle a mixture of reactive maintenance and project work.
6. Exhibitstrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
7. Updateand maintain equipment maintenance documentation and logs, produce faultreports, and record events in accordance with data capture requirements.
8. Take ahands-on approach when necessary to expedite the restoration of systems in theevent of service loss or impairment, prioritizing safety-related systems.
9. Supportthe Engineering Department as needed.
10. Demonstratea flexible attitude towards working hours, covering leave, and being on callfor major issues.
