As a Relationship Director in the GB Social Housing Team, you will develop and maintain a high profile in the GB market with prospective clients and key advisory firms to acquire new profitable customers. You will focus on acquiring new business from Housing Associations in England and Wales and manage a portfolio of existing clients. Your Responsibilities - Research and prepare a prospective target list of new customers and summary recommendation document(s) for credit and pricing consideration Prospect potential new business opportunities initially in the Affordable Housing Sector but also in other targeted sectors via engagement with colleagues, existing clients and advisory firms across England and Wales Identify and attend key conferences / events initially in the Affordable Housing Sector and also in other future targeted sectors Build and maintain valued relationships with key debt advisory, corporate finance and accountancy teams in the Affordable Housing Sector and future targeted sectors Prepare credit applications for identified opportunities in line with Danske Bank UK credit application procedures, including financial and business risk assessment and analysis of industry risks Ensure all recommendations are profitable and meet required returns hurdles Support on boarding / KYC / all aspects of deal execution Ensure full compliance at all times with credit processes, policies and procedures and achieve the correct balance between growth in income and the effective management of risk including portfolio asset quality Ensure full compliance with all corporate standards, policies, processes and procedures and with all external legal, regulatory and voluntary code obligations, thus enabling the customer to be provided with a high quality, professional and compliant service Liaise with other corporate, business and specialist sales managers Be aware of other ancillary business opportunities and to introduce the Bank’s specialist teams e.g. Cash Management and Markets etc Be a key driver in the development of GB Corporate growth capability, identifying areas that require further improvement with solution and project plans Portfolio management, monitor and review of facilities and loans including the maintenance of efficient diary procedures to monitor covenant checks, timely reviews, waivers, compliance and legal matters Your skills: Essential Be an experienced corporate lender with a track record of acquiring new business from customers / clients within the Affordable Housing Sector Be experienced in successfully developing relationships in the Affordable Housing Sector (customers and referral partners) Have experience of managing customers in the Affordable Housing Sector, with complex financing requirements Have a sound understanding of a variety of business sectors and appropriate financing needs Have a good knowledge of corporate banking products and services Preferred Be an experienced corporate lender with a track record of acquiring new business from customers / clients across a variety of business sectors A recognised accountancy qualification with post qualification experience 3rd level business related qualification and / or Banking Certificate How we work Our belief is that we are “ Better when Together ” and want to balance the benefits of teaming up in person with flexible working where possible. We will be supportive and flexible to your circumstances, so for roles that offer a hybrid option we ask colleagues to attend their base location a minimum of 3 days a week so they can connect, collaborate and learn together. The other 2 days can be worked either from home or another bank location. Some of our roles are customer facing which means that it’s really important to be able to work with customers face to face and hybrid working isn’t appropriate.
