Our client, an international brand, is known in their sector for being leaders who provide some of the best products on the market. They are searching for a Warehouse Manager to join their new site and lead the distribution, becoming a key performer within the business.
Job Role
To manage the daily warehouse operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and organized handling, storage, and distribution of products. The Warehouse Manager will oversee warehouse staff, ensure inventory accuracy, and maintain a safe working environment in compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities
1. Manage all warehouse operations including receiving, storing, inventory management, and dispatch of goods.
2. Optimise space utilisation and ensure efficient handling of goods.
3. Ensure accurate and timely processing of orders, inventory control, and stock management.
4. Coordinate with suppliers, transporters, and internal departments to streamline delivery schedules and lead times.
5. Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
6. Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts to ensure the accuracy of the inventory management system.
7. Implement effective FIFO and FEFO principles for inventory handling.
8. Lead, manage, and motivate warehouse staff to ensure high performance, productivity, and morale.
9. Allocate tasks and ensure all employees adhere to safety standards and company policies.
10. Organize staff training on equipment handling, safety procedures, and warehouse management best practices.
11. Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
12. Perform risk assessments and ensure all equipment is regularly inspected and maintained.
13. Address safety concerns immediately and implement corrective measures to mitigate risks.
14. Coordinate shipping and logistics to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers or other branches.
15. Work closely with transport teams to reduce transportation costs and ensure effective routing and scheduling of deliveries.
16. Oversee the packaging and labelling of goods to ensure product safety and compliance with relevant regulations.
17. Track key warehouse metrics such as lead times, shipping errors, inventory accuracy, and labour productivity.
18. Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management.
19. Propose continuous improvement strategies to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs.
20. Oversee the warehouse management system and ensure it is used efficiently for tracking inventory, stock movements, and order processing.
21. Collaborate with IT or WMS vendors to resolve technical issues and improve system efficiency.
Personal Profile
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management, logistics, or a similar field.
• Proficient in warehouse management software (WMS), ERP systems, and MS Office (especially Excel).
• Experience in inventory management, demand planning, and logistics.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
