Hours: Days Mon to Fri 42 hours, includes a weekend rota (1 week in 3 Sat/Sun 08:00-12:00) and also call out duties.

World- leading industrial gases and engineering company urgently require an Electrical Technician
The successful candidate will be responsible for the completion of electrical work at our clients Middlesbrough and Teesside Hydrogen plants. You will provide engineering across a broad range of activities ranging from planning and carrying out both routine and non-routine maintenance of plant and equipment
Duties
* On a day-to-day basis, you will work to complete all electrical maintenance activities aligned to company and regulator standards
* You will also get involved in helping the electrical foreman with the planning of maintenance activities and repairs, using our planning system
* Ensure that any maintenance or inspections can be carried out safely, providing high and low voltage isolations
* In addition, you will manage and work with the staff resources both on and off site, reviewing method statements and risk assessments to ensure the safest approach to working
* Regularly be solving plant problems and making a difference by identifying opportunities to enhance our plant’s reliability
* This role will also give you the chance to be part of small site projects, including the preparation, scoping and costing of projects along with the completion of the relevant change management documentation which goes with it
* And lastly, as a critical role to our organisation you will be required to respond to any out-of-hours breakdowns at the plants, of which you will be compensated for.
* This is a Monday to Friday role with weekend cover every 3rd week, after an appropriate time period the successful candidate will be expected to join this weekend rota and also be on the (on call system) with the additional payments per occasion for both weekends and call outs.
Requirements
* You have the on-the-job, practical electrical skills and training achieved either through an apprenticeship or previous work experience.
* A background in petrochemical industry would be ideal.
* You are a self-starter who is proactive and highly safety conscious, with the ability to think on your feet to prioritise business and safety decisions
* You are naturally curious and enjoy solving problems, fault finding and suggesting improvements
* Furthermore, if you have a Higher National Certificate or equivalent or a higher qualification in an electrical discipline that would be an advantage.
* If you have completed an 18th Edition, S4 High Voltage or CompEx Inspection & Installation Course this would also be an advantage but is not essential.
* A driving license is required for this role to travel between both the Middlesbrough and Teesside sites
