Commercial Lawyer (3 PQE) - Bristol An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Commercial Lawyer with 3 years of post-qualification experience to join a leading national firm based in Bristol. This firm represents a diverse and impressive range of clients, including FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies, public sector organizations, educational institutions, and industry bodies. The team plays a key role in supporting clients on high-profile, business-critical projects, spanning industries such as advanced manufacturing, life sciences, aerospace, energy and renewables, and international trade. About the Role As part of a collaborative and diverse team, you will advise on a full range of contractual arrangements associated with strategic projects and day-to-day business. You will work on complex commercial transactions for clients in industries including advanced manufacturing, energy, aerospace, logistics, and life sciences. The role will involve advising on supply chain management, procurement, product development, and market entry strategies. You will also support energy transition, decarbonisation projects, and productivity improvement initiatives. Your day-to-day work will include contract strategy, drafting, negotiation, risk management, and providing in-house style support for businesses without internal legal teams. Additionally, you will have the chance to work on multi-jurisdictional projects, often collaborating with international partners to deliver seamless cross-border solutions. This includes opportunities to work on large-scale projects for multinational corporations and support growing scale-up businesses as they expand into new markets, including the USA and Saudi Arabia. Key Areas of Focus Include: Drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, including supply chain, procurement, outsourcing, and research and development contracts. Advising on market entry strategies and legal frameworks for companies expanding into new territories. Supporting energy transition and decarbonisation projects. Collaborating with in-house legal teams to deliver practical, in-house-style support. Contributing to multi-jurisdictional projects, often involving international stakeholders. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have: A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in commercial contracts, gained at a City or large regional firm, or in-house. Proven expertise in handling complex commercial matters, including supply chain management, procurement, and the sale of goods and services. Strong drafting and negotiation skills with the ability to provide clear, commercially focused advice to clients. Familiarity with international trade, including import and export matters, is highly advantageous. Experience or an interest in technology, intellectual property, and data protection is beneficial but not essential.
