SP Energy Networks (SPEN) asset strategy team is growing to enhance our Operational Technology asset management capabilities! The Telecoms Networks is a cornerstone in the evolution towards net zero and we are committed to ensure we have effective policies and investment strategies in place to be successful in this transformational journey. What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the OT Asset Strategy Manager, the Telecoms Asset Strategy Manager will be SPEN reference leader on Telecoms asset management, determining the investment and performance strategy for the telecoms network serving our Transmission and Distribution networks. You will manage a team of SMEs, providing guidance and mentoring to facilitate their development.
Key elements of this role include:
* Defining the technical and performance strategy for the SPEN Telecoms Network.
* Defining, approving, and monitoring asset management strategies and policies for the SPEN Telecoms Network.
* Driving development and continuously improving asset risk and performance review methodologies.
* Defining Telecoms Investment needs cases and strategic long-term plans, leading the regulatory interface for Telecoms assets.
* Ensuring Telecoms Network asset management is compliant with the Network & Information System Regulations.
As Telecoms Asset Strategy Manager, you’ll define policies related to design and resilience for Teleprotection and SCADA services for Transmission and Distribution Licences, as well as Inspection, Maintenance, Defects and End of Life policies.
You’ll influence the development of asset data models and information systems, supporting the development of asset risk and performance methodologies, defining strategic long-term plans for the Telecoms Network, and developing investment need cases.
A key part of the role will be to lead the review of Telecoms Faults and Failures, articulating lessons learned, being at the forefront of the industry innovation for Telecoms Assets, leveraging the introduction of new technology to improve network performance.
Other aspects of the role include leading engagement with our operational business areas as well with other industry stakeholders on the Telecoms Network, representing SPEN in Asset Management group discussions, ensuring long-term asset stewardship, and leading engagement on behalf of SPEN with key Government and industry stakeholders.
What you’ll bring
* Expert knowledge of operational telecoms networks and architectures including legacy and modern data transmission and networking technologies, wireless and mobile.
* Knowledge of the NIS regulations and the wider regulatory framework.
* Experience in asset management within a utility environment.
* Experience leading a team (coaching, mentoring).
* Experience of managing and influencing external and internal stakeholders.
