Job Responsibilities
Assist the PSA Operator of a reactor making Pressure Sensitive Adhesives. Running a DCS control system charging chemicals and powders to pre way tanks and blend tanks. Cross link the product and package out.
Always follow Safety Rules, Regulations, Operating Procedures, Corporate/Plant Policies and Laws.
Be active as job involves walking up and down stairs.
Safely operate an industrial forklift truck.
Compounding and staging of raw materials.
Blending of chemicals and powders.
Labelling and filling containers with product.
Take samples and testing using lab equipment to ensure product quality.
Prepare empty containers, maintain satisfactory housekeeping standards, prepare equipment for maintenance.
Knowledge and understanding of MSDS information and hazard labels.
Safely managing industrial chemicals using established safe plant procedures and processes.
Must comply with site PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements including chemical suit, respirator, face shield, hard hat, steel toed boots, etc.
Accurately completing shop floor paperwork and adjusting as needed.
Verify necessary charges with PSA Operator.
Prepare raw materials for the batch to be processed.
Crosslinking process including product material conversation (calculations).
Transfer material to the correct blend tank.
Weigh in and out process for tankers.
Control the swap and drop process of tankers.
Control the pre and post discharge of products into tankers.
Safely charge cartridges and filter bags to optimise transfer times.
Monitor sump water.
Processing rework material following special instructions.
Discharging materials through semi-automated equipment to IBC & drums.
Ensure part containers are consumed into correct batches.
Safely extracting samples whilst minimising risks to quality.
Use of the drum mixers.
Washing procedures.
Maintain good housekeeping standards at all times.
Any other duties as assigned.
