Paediatric Radiographer

Job overview
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Radiographers to join our dynamic, friendly team, to play a key role in maintaining and improving standards and quality of patient services. It is an exciting time to join our team, with a wide scale equipment replacement program is in progress across the trust.
The post is based on the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, Oxford Road site and includes training and rotation through general X-ray, theatre and mobile imaging, fluoroscopy, with some training in CT to be able to support the out of hours services.
Candidates, who have been qualified for 18 months or longer, will also be eligible to apply for link grading to a band 6 post following or at appointment subject to successful completion of the Trust's probationary period.
MFT is a busy teaching hospital as well as a Major Trauma center with around 145,000 patients visiting our Emergency department each year.
The Radiology department is evolving all the time. Our radiology department is a small and friendly facility, which offers you the chance to develop skills in all areas of general paediatric radiography with some potential element of training in other modalities such as CT/MR. In time there are excellent opportunities to progress into specialist areas.
Main duties of the job
1. Have a BSc Radiography or DCR or be qualifying in Radiography Students registering in Summer 2025 following qualification.
2. Be HCPC Registered or Register upon qualification from Summer 2025.
3. Have Excellent communication skills.
4. Be organized and able to prioritize workload.
5. Be flexible.

Knowledge Requirements
* Range of clinical experience at undergraduate level in all areas relevant to first post competency.
* Evidence of CPD.
Qualifications Academic/ Professional
* Is registered with the HCPC or student awaiting confirmation.
* BSc (Radiography) or equivalent.
Personal Attributes
* Ability to work under pressure and without supervision particularly in an on call/out of hour’s situation prioritising workload as required and maintaining standard.
* Able to communicate well with a range of personnel, Able to work well within a team.
* Ability to question clearly and concisely.

Experience
* Experience of working in a clinical setting.
* Has experience of working in an acute hospital setting with shift rotation.

* This post involves dealing with very mobile/less mobile patients, telephone communications, maneuvering of mobile equipment.
* A certain amount of manual dexterity is required.
