Mid-Weight Interior Architect
Rive Gauche is a high-end multi-disciplinary design studio based in Central London. We specialise in high-end residential and luxury hospitality in London and globally, currently working across 6 different countries. We offer a turnkey service from Architecture, Interior Design, to Project Management, providing an end-to-end service, offering clients strategic advice from the early stages of pre-acquisition through to project delivery.

We are looking for an exceptional Mid-Weight Interior Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a skilled interior architect with a minimum of 3 years experience in the UK. Experience working on high-end projects, either residential, commercial, or hospitality, with excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of quality is a must.
Key Responsibilities
CREATIVE
1. Develop creative and functional design concepts for interior spaces, ensuring alignment with client needs, project requirements, and the latest design trends;
2. Create efficient space layouts, considering ergonomics, lighting, acoustics, and overall functionality;
3. Prepare detailed architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and 3D renderings using design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, etc.);
4. Create and develop bespoke designs for joinery, chandeliers, carpet, etc. through technical drawings and details in collaboration with artisans and craftsman;
5. Research and specify appropriate materials, finishes, and furnishings that align with the project’s design intent, budget, and sustainability goals;
6. Work closely with the interior team, architect, project manager, contractors, and clients to ensure that the design vision is implemented accurately throughout the project lifecycle;
7. Present design proposals, concepts, and material selections to clients, and incorporate their feedback into final designs;
8. Work alongside a small design team.
TECHNICAL
1. Assist and manage production design information for tender purposes such as finishes schedule, ironmongery schedule, door schedule, etc.;
2. Ability to design within a given budget liaising with the PM Team;
3. Liaise with Rive Gauche design team to ensure that the design intent is carried through throughout the Detail Design stage;
4. Ensure all designs meet local building codes, regulations, and standards in conjunction with the relevant local specialists;
5. Liaise with contractors, consultants, and suppliers as necessary during construction to monitor quality and resolve any design issues;
6. Assist in providing general technical expertise to the in-house design team.
MANAGEMENT
1. Work alongside a small team of designers efficiently to ensure that all project deadlines are met in accordance with timeframe;
2. Support senior team members as required in achieving deadlines and general project management;
3. Liaise, where appropriate, with members of the external design team and other associated organisations or companies;
4. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to design specifications;
5. Thorough knowledge of and compliance with RG procedures and standards;
6. Client presentation and capacity to propose alternative design options;
7. Coordinate and negotiate with consultants and suppliers;
8. Monitor and report on a weekly/monthly basis to studio management against company and project objectives.
Required skills:
1. Software skills must include: AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite. Revit is not essential.
2. Knowledge of UK building regulations, construction technology, UK planning policies, and procurement methods.
3. This is a client-facing role; the candidate should demonstrate good communication, excellent spoken and written English, and strong organisational skills.
4. A proactive approach to working (can-do attitude), with an ability to take the initiative and drive projects.
