Nursery Deputy Manager
Permanent | 40 hours per week | Monday – Friday
Level 3 Childcare Qualification essential
As the Deputy Manager, you will help lead the staff to deliver and ensure all children receive quality care, help extend the child’s learning. Create, plan, and implement activities and experience which help support all aspects of the EYFS. You will be responsible for opening and closing the nursery and will be required to cover for the Manager in her absence.
This role is working 40 hours per week, various shifts patterns between the opening and closing times of the nursery 7:00am-18:30pm.
This position would suit a candidate who could drive- due to the location of the nursery. This converted barn building is set in a beautiful rural location surrounded by fields, this setting boasts large outdoor play environments suitable for all weather conditions. Our nursery, rated Good by Ofsted (March 2023), is a converted barn building which is set in a beautiful rural location; where children from birth to 5 years can explore, learn, and develop through the many activities and resources available to promote learning through play. We love the great outdoors, and our nursery features open spaces for our children, they also experience outdoor learning in our bespoke forest school facility.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting and liaising with the Manager on a daily basis.
- Assisting the Manager in ensuring effective staff recruitment following Footsteps Day Nurseries recruitment procedures. Supervising staff and students, conducting regular staff assessments, recognising training needs, monitoring training and developing teamwork.
- Planning and preparing activities to develop all aspects of the child's individual development in a stimulating atmosphere, within the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- To work as part of a team in order to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, develop and learn
- Undertake any other duties to ensure the smooth running of the nursery, and the safety and wellbeing of children, staff and families
What we need from you?
- Passion and commitment for working in childcare
- Ability to work shifts between 7.30-6.30pm Monday to Friday working 40 hours per week
- Over 1 year’s experience of working in Early Years
- Commitment to continual development
- NNEB, BTEC Nat Dip, CACHE Dip in Childcare, NVQ level 3, EY Educator
