Our Caring for Carers team provides essential support to unpaid carers, helping them navigate the challenges of caring for loved ones who are disabled, ill, or elderly. This role involves delivering information, advice, and support services to carers in both individual and group settings, ensuring they receive the help they need.
Role Summary
The postholder will work closely with volunteers, professionals, and service users to enhance service delivery, promote co-production, and contribute to the overall development of the project. Key responsibilities include assessing carers’ needs, supporting hospital discharge processes, facilitating access to grants, and raising awareness of available support services.
Additionally, the role requires active engagement with external organisations, assisting with training for staff and volunteers, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to reporting and evaluation. A commitment to safeguarding, professional development, and multi-agency collaboration is essential to ensure high-quality, person-centred support for carers.
Responsibilities
You will be required to meet contractual and grant requirements by delivering information, advice, and support services in a one to one or group setting.
You will work closely with volunteers to enhance service delivery.
You will engage with service users on a formal and informal level to ensure they are involved in the coproduction of service delivery.
You will be required to work closely with your line manager to contribute towards developing plans, monitoring, evaluating, and producing regular reports.
You will be accountable for the use of charitable funding.
You will be an active member of the Improving Lives Plymouth team working closely with peers to develop cross project delivery to provide a wraparound service to our service users reducing the need for them share their story when moving between different teams within the organisation.
You will be required to assist with the implementation of identified accreditation standards.
You will be required to undertake any additional training relevant to the role to contribute towards your continued professional development.
