Job summary We are seeking to appoint a dedicated individual with a strong focus on patient safety to join our Resuscitation Services team. Working as part of a wider Clinical Education Team the successful applicant will be able to develop their knowledge and skills whilst contributing to the provision of a comprehensive Resuscitation Service which encompasses clinical practice, education and training, policies and procedures and clinical governance. Applicants must be a current Registered Nurse (Adult) or Operating Department Practitioner and have considerable post registration experience in an emergency/adult acute care setting. They must also hold, or have held, a Resuscitation Council (UK) Advanced Life Support provider certification and preferably an instructor qualification. Previous experience in this role would be an advantage as is experience in both adult and paediatric care. Main duties of the job Working with the Clinical Education Manager (CEM), and the Resuscitation Lead (RL), the Resuscitation Officer (RO) will ensure the provision of a comprehensive Resuscitation Service encompassing clinical practice, education and training, policies and procedures, equipment and clinical governance to meet the changing needs of the organisation and government led strategies. The RO will contribute towards ensuring that resuscitation remains within local and national guidelines, whilst maintaining and promoting Trust policies and procedures. The RO will maintain patient safety and infection control as consistent threads underpinning all training. Provide advice, guidance and support to staff Trust wide on resuscitation clinical, training and education issues. Support the RL in the planning and delivery of resuscitation training and education for all Trust staff to meet local, regional and national requirements. Contribute towards ensuring that the educational policies and strategies support workforce planning and development Participate in the regular networking events to ensure information is disseminated and lessons are learnt across the organisation and Yorkshire & Humber region.
