Brief Description
You will support the business manager with the governance and assurance of the route project management office (PMO), management of action trackers for PMO and other route critical meetings. Supporting and deputising the business manager who is the portfolio senior responsible owner (SRO), you will fulfill reporting admin requirements for route and regional business reporting. Supporting the route with its governance arrangements for internal and external stakeholders.
You will be given a unique opportunity and insight into the day-to-day running of the Wales & Borders railway.
Your Main Responsibilities will be to:
1. Deliver change support to business change projects.
2. Manage relationships with the business and stakeholders to support the development of the change and to gain buy-in during the project lifecycle.
3. Provide input to the production of change, engagement and transition plans and where appropriate input to the compilation of Business Plans.
4. Assist business change programmes in the initiation and set up stages and provide them with ongoing improvement support.
5. Input to and provide support in the assessment and management of risks to benefits realisation and stakeholder engagement and identify potential issues and concerns to be addressed.
6. Assist in the implementation of engagement plans and influence internal and external stakeholders on the agenda for change; setting realistic expectations on both the benefits and risks of specific changes.
7. Input to and provide support in controlling programme change and risks related to business change activity.
8. Assist in the collation of costs, contingency and programme details to enable the sponsor to direct change strategy and engagement.
9. Work with project teams so that the content of updates and reports of business change activities are fit for purpose and communicated to the relevant internal and external stakeholders.
You will ideally have:
1. Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
2. An ability to work well under pressure in a rapidly evolving environment.
3. Client focused.
4. Educated to degree level or equivalent.
5. Proficient at PowerPoint and Excel.

1. Change professional with a track record of delivering business change within a complex blue-chip business or government function.
2. Demonstrable application, knowledge, and experience of defining, tracking, and delivering business benefit in change management initiatives.
3. Evidence of client (internal or external) and stakeholder engagement.
