Your new role
We are seeking an experienced Early Years and Childcare Sustainability Support Officer to join the Family Early Years and Childcare Services on a part-time (18.5 hours) and permanent basis.
As an Early Years and Childcare Sustainability Support Officer, you will work with the Education Funding and Sufficiency Manager/Officer to ensure settings and out-of-school provision is sustainable. You will support Early Years and Childcare providers, including schools, to remain viable and to reshape or create new financial models in line with the Early Years and Childcare Sufficiency Strategy. You will provide expert, responsive information, advice, guidance, and support to providers of Early Years and Childcare business needs, including schools on different models of delivery.
You will keep up to date with policy changes relating to funding and how this may impact providers' business, sharing best practice business models to ensure the early years education, childcare, and out-of-school market is sustainable. You will plan, write, and deliver training on business and sustainability issues. You will also provide business planning support for new provision or providers planning to adapt or expand.
Although this contract is offered on a hybrid basis, the successful candidate will be predominantly out and about visiting educational settings, working from the office, and occasionally working from home.
To meet the needs of the service, you will be expected to adopt flexible working patterns to cover occasional evenings and Saturdays.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have good working knowledge of Early Years and Childcare requirements and the business and financial impacts of these for providers across the sector. An in-depth knowledge and experience of the early years education, childcare, and out-of-school policy and delivery is essential for this role.
It is vital that you have sound knowledge of business planning and the ability to support Early Years and Childcare providers to monitor or develop these skills. It is also essential that you can present information in a variety of ways to different audiences. This role will suit an individual who has previously worked as a Childcare business manager/Early years business manager/School business officer/School business administrator, etc.
To be considered for this role, you must possess either a business qualification or NVQ lv2 in business.
The post will require the need to be mobile and move around the city, so a full clean driving license with access to your own vehicle is essential and your application will not be considered without it.
