What will I be doing?
Reporting to the Purchasing & Procurement department of Safran Helicopter Engines UK, the Supplier Performance Manager supports and manages the performance and improvement of the Supply Chain for Safran Helicopter Engines UK suppliers.
Responsibilities:
1. Handle a portfolio of suppliers on a day-to-day basis - project performance and supply chain risks with face-to-face and regular meetings or conference calls. Reporting back to management of any risk, performance, quality concerns, or improvement plans.
2. Coordinate and attend supplier visits (frequency 2-3 visits per week) with purchasing and procurement team considering open order books, forecasts, performance, and supplier overview.
3. Assess supply chain and suppliers capability and capacity to meet current and future delivery requirements.
4. Identify, advance, and mitigate potential Supply Chain Risks and put in place associated improvement and mitigation plans.
5. Facilitate monthly supplier reviews in collaboration with Supplier Quality Manager, Supplier Development Engineers, Purchasing and Procurement departments, buyers, and present to management as required.
6. Utilise measures (OTD and scorecards) and communicate (internally and externally) overall performance (Milestones of industrialisation, supply chain (OTD) and Quality (PPM).
7. Prepare, plan and facilitate the monthly supplier performance review.
8. Establish action plans with the suppliers aimed at achieving operational objectives and monitor the implementation.
9. Ensure the supplier's ability to carry out the production programmes and industrialisation using baselines (load/capacity exercises with the supplier & actions plan to follow each month).
10. Formalise with the supplier a risk analysis to ensure the ramp-up and controlling supplier risks.
11. Manage the development of industrial maturity of its supplier panel, contribute to supplier onboarding and selection.
12. Assess the supplier's risk management maturity and lead it to develop.
13. Participate in supplier evaluation and pre-selection actions.
Travel specificity:
Frequent UK travel and some overnight travel.
Candidate skills & requirements:
What do you need from me?
Knowledge:
- Significant experience in Supply Chain/Production, preferably in customer/supplier relationship (Purchasing/Quality).
- Lean 6 Sigma and MRPII (Basics/CPIM) basis & tools is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel / PowerPoint / Word).
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP).
- Align with corporate methodologies and reporting tools.
Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Experience in supply chain management and supplier development in the Aerospace, Defence, or Manufacturing environments is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to improve Supplier Performance (Delivery and Quality) using appropriate tools and lean methodologies.
- Proficient in creating/validating process flows, lead time analysis, understanding capacity bottlenecks, yield, resources, and sub-tier mapping activities to form an industrial view of supplier.
- Hold excellent problem-solving skills and understanding of techniques such as DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control) to develop and implement root cause analysis and improvement plans within Supply Chain.
