Job summary Cornwall Hospice Care require a Director of Clinical Services, to operate as a member of the Executive Management Team (EMT), contributing to both the strategic direction and the day to day operational management of the hospice and to provide dynamic, innovative and visible leadership for clinical services, whilst representing the hospice and championing high quality care at the end of life and collaborative working across the wider system. Experience of working as a senior manager in a care delivery organisation in a strategic capacity. Substantial experience of the development and implementation of strategic plans in a health or social care setting. Proven and demonstrable leadership skills including coaching and mentoring experience. Experience of working with and being accountable to a Board of Trustees. Experience, understanding and application of the principles of clinical governance to drive continuous service improvement. Ability to undertake risk assessments in a clinical or care setting. Experience of clinical, care or service-related audit. Experience of using information derived from a variety of sources including; National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance, recognised and validated palliative outcomes, clinical audits and incidents and patient and carer experience to drive improvement in clinical quality. Ability to lead, manage and motivate others. Knowledge of how to set and monitor a departmental budget, and experience of managing services to an agreed budget.
