We are excited and proud to offer an opportunity to become part of our dynamic Surgical Nursing Team.
Ward 2/3 is designed to provide a variety of surgical procedures and care to all our elective pathway surgical patients. As such, it offers excellent opportunities to expand your experience in surgical nursing and provides experience in treating a wide range of complex surgical conditions. It is a well-led ward managed by a highly focused and friendly team of experienced nurses.
Main duties of the job
* To assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient care using an agreed patient pathway.
* To act as a patient advocate through the application of ethical, legal and professional knowledge and skills.
* To work within agreed policies and procedures.
* Participate in relevant data collection for clinical trials.
* To liaise and communicate with members of the multi-disciplinary team in the planning and delivery of patient care.
* To maintain accurate records/standards for documentation.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome.

Qualifications and/or knowledge
* Registered Nurse/Nursing Degree/Diploma.
* Evidence of post registration study and training.
Experience
* Experience of providing holistic nursing care.
* Clear understanding of clinical governance framework.
* Implements evidence-based practice.
Skills and competencies
* Clear understanding of contract of care.
* Ability to document details clearly and accurately.
* Clear understanding of consent process.
* Basic IT skills.
* Awareness of ABUHB policies. Knowledge of risk and incident reporting policy.
* Appreciation of audit and research methodologies.
