Role Purpose
The post is based within the Public Protection Service Business Support Team, Langlee, Galashiels. This team is largely responsible for the facilitation and minuting of Child and Adult Protection meetings across the Borders as well as reviews for LAAC children. The team also maintains the Child Protection Register for the Scottish Borders. Business Support provides support to the Social Work staff within the Public Protection Service and works closely with those working in the service from partner agencies (Police and NHS Borders). Duties undertaken include:
1. Letter typing and distribution
2. Minute taking and distribution
3. Use of SBC applications such as Mosaic, Business World, Intranet, One Drive and Microsoft packages
4. Scanning and filing
5. Attendance at meetings e.g. Business Meeting
6. Being first point of telephone/email contact to the public and professionals
7. Monitoring of Team mailboxes
Essential Qualifications
Minimum of 3 Standard Grades at level 1, 2, 3 (or equivalent), including English.
