About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced transport and operations manager to oversee transport and the optimisation of branch resources. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our transportation operations are safe and compliant and meet the needs of our customers. They will work closely with other members of the management team to ensure we make optimum use of company resources.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement policies and procedures for transportation operations.
* Ensure that all transportation operations comply with health and safety regulations.
* Manage operator’s license requirements by ensuring that all drivers have valid licenses, monitoring driver hours, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
* Put forward recommendations to improve fleet efficiency and reduce cost by tracking fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and vehicle utilisation rates.
* Put forward fleet review and procurement recommendations.
* Lead on the planned and reactive maintenance of vehicles and plant.
* Work closely with other members of the management team to ensure that our transportation operations meet the needs of our customers.
* Analyse current operational systems/processes and formulate strategy to make optimum use of company resources including researching new technologies and methodologies as appropriate.
* Review layout of branches and make recommendations for change to improve efficiencies and maximise sales opportunities.
* Prioritise tasks based on urgency, importance, and available resources.
