Behaviour Support Assistant Bournemouth Full time, permanent Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm Start date - ASAP The School and Role An Alternative Provision school based in Bournemouth are currently seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to start in September or as soon as possible. The school caters for primary age pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as challenging behaviour. A Behaviour Support Assistant plays a crucial role in creating a supportive and structured environment. You will work closely with children who display challenging behaviour, helping them to develop coping strategies, self-regulation skills, and positive social interactions. They utilise tailored behaviour management techniques, engage pupils in therapeutic activities, and collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create individualised support plans. Their goal is to foster emotional wellbeing, encourage academic engagement, and promote positive behaviour, ensuring each child feels valued and empowered to achieve their potential in a safe and nurturing setting.
