YOUR ROLE
Our UK & Ireland financial accounting team who are responsible for the organisation's overall financial plans, policies and accounting practices have a rare opportunity for a meticulous and determined Finance Manager.
This role offers the opportunity to work at our head office in Ashby de la Zouch and from home, therefore we are looking for an individual who can offer flexibility to working location.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting into the Head of Financial Control you will be responsible for:
1. Ensure that internal teams comply with all aspects of accounting control by adhering to an agreed standardised process and set of templates.
2. Prepare financial statements for CEVA legal entities and manage the audit process ensuring filing deadlines are met.
3. Establish and review internal controls, monitor intercompany cross-charges, and collaborate with the tax department.
4. Liaise with internal and external auditors ensuring requested information is provided, queries are resolved.
5. Make recommendations to the business from external audit findings and ensure that actions are monitored, concluded, and signed off by IA from internal audits.
6. Train and support colleagues, assisting with technical accounting, and ensuring compliance with financial legislation and group standards.
7. Ensure regular review and correction of balance sheet reconciliations, approval of payments, and VAT return reconciliations.
8. Challenge and continually review processes, practices, and principles to ensure we are improving and implementing standards.
In addition, you will have one direct report that will support you in ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to, therefore you will ensure that you are embedding a culture of engagement, development and high performance.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
This role requires someone who has significant internal auditing, financial accounting and control management experience. You will be ACCA/ACA qualified and have proven experience in financial accounting, processes, principles, concepts, and methodologies. It is crucial that you can make decisions and operate independently on multifaceted issues and business requirements, you will have a strong analytical skillset able to distil large amounts of complex data and present this into a reasonable and readable format, therefore experience of MS Excel and financial systems would be required.
It goes without saying that you will be a natural communicator who can build strong working relationships, influence, motivate and lead others. It would be desirable, however not essential if you come from a practice auditing background or have worked within a large organisation with complex accounting processes and systems.
