Job Title: Lighting Designer
Responsible for designing lighting calculations to relevant standards and specifications using WILA/EB products and creating layout drawings, technical presentations, and quotations to deadlines accurately and professionally.
Main Responsibilities & Duties
1. Accurate Lighting Calculations using Dialux or Dialux Evo
2. Customer take off counts and quote creation
3. Provide lighting payback calculations (ROI) on a project-by-project basis in order to meet customer expectations
4. Support the growth of the business and sales team by working closely with customers
5. Undertake and perform site surveys and customer meetings
6. Liaising with customers directly on their lighting design schemes
7. Provide product datasheets and related information for all products
8. Be knowledgeable and able to apply relevant industry and segment guidelines, standards and regulatory requirements and be able to translate these to the sales team
9. Maintain an orderly workflow according to priorities set by your manager
10. Maintain accurate records (CRM)
11. Being knowledgeable about products and services offered by the business
12. Being aware of market trends and competitors
13. Maintain a positive attitude that promotes a culture of growth through sales across the business
14. Continue the philosophy to always communicate effectively, providing a knowledgeable and intimate service to all internal and external customers.
Qualification and Skills
1. Minimum of HNC in Engineering or Science based subject or equivalent technical competence
2. Minimum of 3 years relevant lighting industry experience in a Lighting design / Technical environment
3. Knowledge of current BS and EN standards and CIBSE guides relating to lighting
4. Good level of technical knowledge relating to lighting products and associated components
5. A high level of IT literacy
6. An excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD, Dialux
7. Able to engage effectively with staff at all levels with different levels of technical expertise
