School caretaker

Do you have experience in working as a caretaker for a school/college/care facility?

Happy to work in term time only (39 weeks a year), 20 hours a week, Monday - Friday 14:00 - 18:00?

Your main responsibilities:

* to assist in maintaining the site by ensuring all buildings and grounds are kept in good order
* to ensure the premises and grounds are continually fit for purpose
* to carry out maintenance and repairs both as needed and part of a planned maintenance schedule

Your daily, weekly and monthly tasks:

1. Conduct regular inspections and ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of all areas
2. Keep a record of all the day-to-day activities
3. Comply with all policies re Health and Safety
4. Maintain plant and equipment service records, report defects, damages and malfunctions
5. Ensure safe storage of materials, paints etc
6. Regular inspection on services, utilities and building
7. Operate and maintain heating and hot water plant
8. Maintenance and H&S checks on water, fire alarm, exits, equipment, emergency lighting, asbestos etc
9. Organise and carry out movement of furniture and equipment
10. Liaise and manage contractors e.g window cleaners, gardening services, gas and electric etc..
11. Health and safety of yourself and others - contributing to a safe and secure environment
