The successful candidate will be based in Oxford. The successful candidate will have strong employment law experience, and experience in the Higher Education sector would be particularly desirable. The successful candidate will work closely with partners in Oxford and Cambridge in relation to higher education employment and employment-related work as well as with fee-earners in Oxford and the wider firm in relation to employment matters. There will be ample opportunity for business development. Responsibilities The candidate is needed to perform the full range of employment work and to participate fully in business development. The successful candidate will be expected to get involved with the team's work within the education sector (especially in Oxford and Cambridge) and to undertake some Police Fed work, as well as general claimant (mainly senior executive) and respondent work, and corporate support. They will be expected to provide a profitable contribution to the work of the Employment Team, Education Sector group and Business Services Division. They will be expectED to deliver a high quality commercial legal service ensuring personal compliance with quality standards and professional ethics and to be an ambassador for the firm at all times and always promote it in a positive light. Essential & Desirable Criteria The ideal candidate will be a good technician with ambition and a flair for business development and will be prepared to undertake limited advocacy as well as speak at training events. They must be admitted to the roll of solicitors (or due to qualify in March 2025) or a member of the bar, FILEX.
