Ultra Precision Control Systems (PCS) are looking for a Production Scheduler to join the Planning Function. The Planning function in Ultra is responsible for planning and reviewing incoming order requirements, material availability and production resources to ensure customer orders are delivered in line with customer requirements. The Planning team interface between various departments (Production, Procurement, Stores, Commercial, Programmes, Production Engineering, QA, DO) to enable development of realistic plans and schedules to ensure the customer orders are satisfied. A professional at this grade possesses knowledge for specific fields and performs structured work assignments. Uses established procedures to solve problems by making judgments and gets work done with quality under moderate supervision. Has limited discretion to vary from established procedures.
Responsibilities:
* Work with the Production Manager to develop production plans based on customer demand and business forecast
* Scheduling of shop orders in line with sales forecast and capacity
* Monitor and process internal shop orders
* Provide capacity analysis for Production Manager
* Liaise with Production Manager & procurement to ensure timely planning of parts against system due date
* Analyse production and procurement lead times to ensure customer requirements can be met.
* Provide feedback to production, commercial, quality and procurement on areas that may affect quality, cost or delivery.
* Work with engineering and ME teams to ensure a smooth transition of new products and latest standard parts into production ensuring minimal schedule and cost disruption.
* Complete contract reviews for all new orders for the cell
* Monitor on time delivery of OE, spares and repairs items
* Manage rejection of parts and replacement items through the IFS system
* Update IFS with all shortages, generate a report to show these for current period and expedite these through supply chain
* Update & manage S&OE file to support value stream
* Attend regular production meetings and provide progress feedback
* Ad hoc tasks as designated by the Planning Director.
Minimum Requirements:
* Previous experience of planning desirable
* Qualified to degree level
* Computer literate and experienced in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint office tools
* Ability to influence and support key business stakeholders
* Ability to challenge current embedded culture and ways of working
* Experience of using IFS MRP system
* Background gained in the aerospace or defence sectors
* Candidates must be able to work in the UK without restrictions in accordance with UK National Law and be prepared to successfully undertake an appropriate level of UK National Security Vetting according to UK Government National Security Vetting criteria.
