Installation & Maintenance Electrician – Apprenticeship
Location: Spennymoor – Sedgefield
Salary:
16yrs – 17yrs: £7.71 (40 hours per week including time at college)
Over 18yrs: £10.71 (42.5 hours per week including time at college)
Over 21yrs: £12.21 (42.5 hours per week including time at college)
Tools, Chromebook, and uniform will be provided, along with an industry-recognised qualification and excellent benefits.
The NVQ L3 Electrical Installation apprenticeship programme will take up to 54 months to complete.

What does a life as an Electrician look like?
As an Electrician, you will be involved in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems including lighting, sockets, machines, and alarms. You will assist customers in understanding how their appliances work and how to manage their energy usage efficiently.
The apprenticeship course will cover the following:
1. Applicable building regulations for domestic electrical installation
2. Electrical safety legislation, regulations, standards, and terminology
3. Domestic electrical circuit installation
4. Domestic lighting circuit installation
5. Domestic electrical earthing and bonding requirements
6. Inspecting, testing, and commissioning single-phase domestic electrical circuits
7. Special locations and installations including kitchens and bathrooms
8. Domestic electrical installation pre-work survey/inspection
9. Basic understanding of 3 phase
What do you need to be a successful applicant?
1. GCSEs in English and Maths grade 4 or above
2. The ability and desire to learn and develop a thorough knowledge of the skills, technology, and safety procedures required
3. Strong communication skills
4. You must live in the Spennymoor area to travel independently to and from the branch
5. Be able to establish and maintain good customer/client relationships
6. Please note: due to the nature of the role, successful applicants are required to complete a colour perception test and a basic Math & English test.
