Green Hub Youth Worker - Part Time
Based: London Road with a requirement to travel to other sites as required
Salary: £15250.80pa - £16034.40pa (depending on experience/qualifications)
Hours: 21 hrs per week
Post end Date: This is a temporary contract position of 21 hours per week starting on 1st June 2025 and ending on 31st March 2026

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the new Green hub project at the Wilmorton Community Gardens.
The role purpose is to empower and inspire young people 11-21 years old to achieve their potential by encouraging and supporting them to build upon their strengths and talents with a particular focus on activities within the outdoor environment.
You will be required to design and deliver a programme of activities to develop the horticulture, countryside management, and practical work skills of young people to encourage them to live healthy independent lives in the future.
It will be essential for you to find creative and innovative ways to engage and motivate young people, and to give them a voice.
Key to the project’s success will be your ability to build positive and mutually beneficial relationships with partner agencies and with our local community that will benefit the young people living in Derby.
deally you will have the following: -
You must be a Fully Qualified Youth Worker or have relevant experience and be willing to work towards a youth work qualification.
Knowledge and an understanding of the issues faced by young people experiencing disadvantage and the complexity of their needs.
Knowledge of horticulture, countryside management and other outdoor activities
To be able to record information and produce written reports to a good standard.
A driving license and use of own car is essential.
