Job Title: Painter & Decorator - Social Housing Location: North East England, Northumberland, Ponteland Job Type: Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours Primary Industry: Construction Salary: £20 - £22 Per hour Job Duties: Prepare walls and surfaces for painting by removing old paint, filling holes, and smoothing surfaces Apply paint, wallpaper, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces Mix and match paint colours and textures to achieve desired results Use brushes, rollers, and sprayers to apply paint and other finishes efficiently Ensure all work meets quality standards and deadlines Protect furniture, floors, and other items from paint and damage during the decoration process Required Qualifications: Proven experience as a painter and decorator Ability to work independently and as part of a team Attention to detail and a focus on quality Good communication and time management skills Education: No formal education required, but relevant qualifications in painting and decorating are advantageous Experience: Previous experience working as a painter and decorator in the construction industry Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of painting techniques and tools Ability to accurately measure and calculate materials needed Understanding of health and safety regulations in the construction industry Preferred Qualifications: NVQ or City & Guilds qualifications in painting and decorating Health and Safety certification Working Conditions: The role involves working both indoors and outdoors, depending on the project. It may require working at heights and in various weather conditions. The painter & decorator may need to wear protective gear and adhere to health and safety guidelines
