Geotechnical Engineer - Data Centre Projects

About the Role:
Black Book Resources is supporting a major client delivering Data Centre projects across the UK. We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join the team and play a key role in the successful planning and delivery of mission-critical infrastructure projects.
You'll be responsible for applying geotechnical engineering principles to large-scale developments, supporting feasibility studies, risk assessments, and remediation designs, while ensuring full compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Apply geotechnical engineering methods and best practices at the project delivery level.
2. Conduct geoenvironmental investigations, contaminated land risk assessments, and remediation design.
3. Ensure all work is compliant with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
4. Produce conceptual schematic drawings, statements of work (SOW), and accurate budget estimates.
5. Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams through all phases of Data Centre builds.
About You:
1. 5-10 years' practical experience in geotechnical engineering, ideally within large-scale or mission-critical projects.
2. Strong background in geoenvironmental testing, contaminated soil/water assessment, and remediation.
3. Solid understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks.
4. Ability to translate technical data into clear, actionable project documentation.
5. Previous experience on Data Centre, infrastructure, or industrial projects would be an advantage.
