Long-Term Teachers is working closely with a fantastic Special Educational needs school in Dawlish that provides outstanding academic and personal care to students across all key stages.
We have an incredible opportunity to work as a teaching assistant, including work on a 1:1 basis depending on the current need. You will be responsible for helping to nurture young people with challenging needs such as communication and interaction difficulties, learning needs and autism.
Surrounded by beautiful woodland and near the seaside, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in fulfilling activities outside of the classroom. With an adapted curriculum, no two days are the same. They have fantastic provisions such as a forest school, woodland walk, bike trail, swimming pool and much more!
What it’s like to work as a teaching assistant:
* Supporting the classroom teacher in managing the class and supporting students in focusing and engaging in their learning
* Get the classroom ready for lessons
* Supervise group activities or work with students on a 1:1 basis, depending on need
* Provide a healthy and safe learning environment for children
* Build meaningful and long-lasting relationships to help students excel both academically, socially and emotionally
