Position:
This is a 6 month FTC to provide temporary management and oversight of the operational Membership Team, for both BAU and change activity. Reporting to the Director of Qualifications, they will define and deliver the service-related strategy and drive to culture of proactivity.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
* Define and deliver service-related strategy to drive culture of proactivity and focus on the needs of the member and prospective member.
* Define and ensure delivery of team training needs.
* Lead transformation and continuous improvement initiatives; project manage any service or process related changes in order to implement the Business Plan.
* Establish and monitor KPIs and other operational efficiency measures and, following root cause analysis, take corrective action as required.
* Line management of the operational membership team of Advisors.
* Ensure optimal operational activity of the peer review/committee functions within the relevant areas.
* Operational, and appropriate strategic, risk management.
In addition to duties and responsibilities listed above, the employee may be required to perform other duties assigned by their line manager from time to time.
IChemE is an international membership organisation and activities often take place outside of normal working hours. The job holder must be willing to attend and participate in such activities and associated travel. Additionally, the job holder will be required to liaise with colleagues located in different time zones on an ad hoc basis to meet the needs of the business.
Major IT project:
Manage cutover activities, oversee team testing and data-related activities.
Line management:
Direct line management for the Membership and Qualification Advisor team.
Budget accountability:
This role has no budget responsibility.
Experience and expertise:
* Project/change management experience.
* Extensive experience working at management level and above in a customer-oriented environment.
* Experience of managing a complex operational area / highly specialised function.
* Excellent written, verbal and communication skills.
* Able to plan and prioritise workloads of themselves and others as well as provide coaching, development and support to team members.
* Can analyse data, perform root cause analysis and establish a practical and effective course of action.
* Adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities.
* Strong customer service ethos and commitment.
Experience of working in a membership/professional engineering institution or other standards-related environment desirable.

Other information:
Due to IChemE’s international nature, this position requires a willingness to work flexibly and to engage in business discussions outside of normal working hours.
The position is based in the Rugby UK office (CV21 3HQ) we are currently working to a minimum of three days from the Rugby office. Some business travel may be involved.

This is a permanent full-time role based on 37.5 hours per week working Monday through to Friday (core hours from 10:00 – 12:00 and 14:30 – 16:00). Salary:
£55,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus benefits which includes an excellent pension scheme.
