We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Pharmacist to lead, develop, and expand our Paediatric Cancer Services, ensuring the delivery of outstanding care to children with cancer both locally and internationally. As a solely tertiary paediatric hospital in the heart of London, we treat patients from all across the city and beyond, offering cutting-edge treatments for rare and complex cancers. Our hospital is a primary treatment centre and collaborates with over 20 paediatric oncology shared care centres.

Main duties of the job
1. Leadership & Service Development: Take the lead in shaping and expanding our Paediatric Cancer Pharmacy Service, overseeing the management, growth, and quality of our services.
2. Clinical Expertise: Deliver expert paediatric cancer and transplant pharmacy services, focusing on safe prescribing and monitoring of SACT (Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies).
3. Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to provide patient-centred care, influencing treatment decisions.
4. Education & Training: Lead the training and development of pharmacy staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
5. Governance & Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant governance and regulatory requirements for cancer therapies.
Minimum Requirements
We are looking for someone who:
* Has significant experience in paediatric cancer/BMT, pharmacy leadership, and clinical service development.
* Demonstrates a strong track record in oncology or transplant pharmacy, with expertise in high-cost and novel drug management.

Person Specification
* Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* MPharm or equivalent or BPharm/BSc Hons for those qualified before 2002
* Evidence portfolio to demonstrate mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice
* Clinical Pharmacy Diploma or equivalent
* BOPA SACT accredited
* MSc in Oncology or similar
Experience/Knowledge
* Substantial previous experience in a clinical pharmacy role within Haematology, Oncology, BMT, or Palliative Care.
* Expert advanced clinical knowledge in paediatric oncology.
* Experience of managing staff and leading projects.
* Experience of delivering education and training.
Skills/Abilities
* Ability to communicate effectively with all staff and patients at all levels.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Good negotiation skills and the ability to influence senior staff.
* Ability to identify and manage risk.
