Description The Service & Team: The Adult Skills Analyst role will be working in the Economy & Skills Service's People & Prosperity team. The Role: The primary purpose of the Adult Skills Analyst post is to contribute to the successful delivery of the devolved Adult Skills Fund (ASF) to Cornwall Council. The key areas of work are: 1. Development of Adult Skills Fund data systems and practices within the Council to properly and accurately process and analyse data relating to Adult Education delivery to residents. 2. Analysis of data relating to ASF funded provision delivered to residents in Cornwall to underpin: Allocations and funding agreements Monitoring and evaluation of delivery Payments to funded providers Performance Management. 3. Analysis of employment and skills data to underpin and inform the Council's approach to ASF contributing to the production of high-quality drafts of major Council strategies, plans and reports. This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies. This position will be subject to a basic criminal record disclosure check. Working Pattern: 37 hours per week Monday to Friday. However, we are happy to discuss and consider flexible working options available in this role, such as compressed hours, term-time only, hybrid work arrangements, and other alternatives. What you’ll need to succeed: You'll need excellent analytical skills and be able to manage a demanding and varied workload and produce accurate work in a timely manner. Experience in conceptualising and designing systems for large data sets, as well as experience of analysing, interpreting and presenting data to help inform decision making and policy development. You'll possess knowledge of effective management information processes, particularly to ensure data protection and file security. A good understanding of the skills landscape, preferably Adult Education, funding and training delivery. We would expect you would have a relevant BA or BSc degree (with a strong analytical component), or equivalent professional qualification, project management or at least 3 years' experience in a relevant field.
