Interim Senior Finance Business Partner

Pay Rate: £27.85 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours
Role Length: This opening assignment is for 3 months

We are seeking an individual to provide temporary support in managing financial matters related to High Needs, specifically Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The role will involve overseeing the financial aspects of SEND provisions, ensuring efficient budget management and compliance with relevant policies, while supporting the team in addressing financial challenges and driving effective resource allocation.
Key Responsibilities:
Influence decision-makers to ensure the right outcomes for the County Council.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve the finance function to meet statutory requirements and support the Council’s strategic goals.
Assist in developing the Medium Term Financial Strategy and corporate transformation, identifying options to improve efficiency and service delivery.
Provide strategic advice to elected Members, Chief Officers, and DMT.
Explain the strategic implications of financial information to non-financial specialists, linking it to operations.
Understand the business to provide financial advice that supports effective decision-making.
Support the development of management reports and systems to link financial data with operational activity and outcomes.
Key requirements:
CCAB or equivalent qualification and membership of the relevant body
Demonstrates understanding and knowledge of Finance best practice, reporting, forecasting and budgeting techniques.
Good understanding of all the different areas of finance
Significant experience in Education finance issues.
Experience of working in cross functional teams
Experience of resolving financial problems, particularly efficiency, with sound workable solutions.
Experience of developing effective working relationships with senior and operational managers within service departments and other finance professionals to ensure business and financial objectives are met
