Main duties of the job
As a Senior Support Worker you will be an active and positive member of the East Community Learning Disability Team, contributing skills and experience to the clinical assessments and interventions. Working with individuals with a learning disability and their families, you will monitor, contribute to, and modify the Care Plan in response to need, in order to improve the health outcomes for the person.

Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience
Essential
* NVQ Level 3 (Care)
* Previous experience of working with people with a learning disability with complex needs, some of whom exhibit behaviour that challenges, in a variety of settings.
* Commitment to personal development
Desirable
* Experience in a variety of settings. Experience working with people with complex behavioural and/or mental health needs
Skills and Aptitude
Essential
* Excellent communication and record keeping skills. Ability to recognise and report with accuracy the needs of people with a learning disability and/or their environment.
* Able to support people who have varying degrees of physical/learning disabilities/personal care needs/behaviours that challenge.
Knowledge and abilities
Essential
* Ability to learn and implement a range of specific interventions/procedures appropriate to the role.
* Computer literate
