Ideally multi skilled as regards Engineering/Maintenance experience, but will accept and electrical / mechanical bias with some working knowledge of the other discipline Must possess a recognised electrical or mechanical engineering qualification Self motivated and the ability to work both as part of a team as well as on own initiative Possess a high standard of workshop skills such welding and machining Have a familiarity with PLC programming and variable speed drives The provision of an electrical/mechanical breakdown and repair service To undertake plant operating checks and routines Be responsible for maintaining and overhauling plant as necessary To ensure that downtime is kept to a minimum with regard to mechanical and /or electrical failures To have a proactive approach in detecting and diagnosing electrical and mechanical problems whether existing or potential on all equipment within the site To be creative in providing mechanical and/or electrical solutions, given the age and complexity of the plant equipment To install or modify all existing equipment on site as and when required To carryout plant improvements and project development work as required To participate in the Annual maintenance shutdown - usually 2 weeks during August compulsory, and Call - out system/rota operated by the Company to cover plant breakdown emergencies compulsory To provide technical guidance and support to other Engineers as and when required To be able to work on the line resolving problems and issues, as well undertaking work on own within the Engineering Workshop utilising the various equipment and machines as required Must ensure that safe working practices are complied with at all times To ensure that all departmental procedures and work instructions are maintained, up - dated when necessary and adhered to To undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time by Management
