Senior Business Manager to the Chief Medical Officer's Office
The Business Manager (BM) will co-coordinate the portfolio overseen by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO). This will include supporting the Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO) and Associate Medical Directors (AMD), with specific duties to support their portfolios, which will include:
1. Quality Improvement
2. Clinical Effectiveness
3. Clinical Governance
4. Research and Innovation
5. Medical Workforce
6. Responsible Officer
As well as being dynamic, adaptive and responsive to the requirements of the CMO, the BM will be expected to work proactively and to pre-empt the needs of the CMO, identifying and managing / escalating urgent issues that require the attention of the CMO's office.
The BM must be able to exercise professional judgment in the timely provision of accurate advice, briefs, reports, presentations and correspondence to the CMO and must also be able to prepare such documentation on the CMO's behalf to a suitable standard.
Main duties of the job
1. To work on their own initiative on a day-to-day basis, leading the CMO's office.
2. To act as the prime representative of the CMO's office with the discretion to act on behalf of the CMO.
3. To independently establish the modus operandi of the CMO's office across the portfolio.
4. Project Management - to undertake designated business-related projects on behalf of the Board Director.
5. Business management - Compose management reports, policies and documents on behalf of the Board Director.

Qualifications
* Masters/higher degree or relevant equivalent experience
* Evidence of relevant continuing professional and academic development
* Demonstrable success in influencing and implementing beneficial change.
* Proven experience of operating at a senior level within a large and complex organisation
* Experience of managing systems and processes to standards that comply with healthcare-related regulatory frameworks.
* Experience of building effective teams and networks, including across organisation boundaries.
* Demonstrable experience of successfully improving performance in teams and services.
* Experience of preparing presentations
* Successful track record of delivering challenging targets and achieving results
* Experience of managing budget effectively for both pay and non-pay
* Drafting letters, briefings and presentations.
* Working Partnership environment in a multi-disciplined organisation
* Good understanding of the NHS Information Governance agenda and toolkit
