Following initial training under the supervision of a qualified dental nurse, the post holder will be expected to: Promote and maintain health and safety in the workplace. Maintain high standards of cross infection control, cleaning of surgeries and sterilisation of instruments in accordance with trust policies. Provide chairside support for the patient and operator during the assessment of oral health, treatment planning and the prevention and treatment of oral and dental diseases and disorders. Communicate effectively with patients, their families and with other health professionals involved in their care. Deal with medical emergencies as a member of the dental team Carry out duties within the trust policy framework Preparation of patients, instrumentation and surgeries for clinical and surgical work. Be aware of individual responsibility under the Health & Safety legislation. Report any practice or occurrence which may be detrimental to the wellbeing of patients, visitors or staff. Attend mandatory training days as requested. Attend unit meetings, team brief and departmental training. Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service. Act as a key worker when required. Participate in health education, providing patients with information when required.
Previous experience within a hospital setting would be advantageous, but if you are a dynamic team player and a keen learner with an interest in Maxillofacial surgery & Orthodontics then you could be just the person we are looking for.
