Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Integrated Occupational and Physiotherapy team. This full time position will be based in the Musculoskeletal Outpatient Therapy service at Ipswich Hospital.
We are looking for positive people with experience of working with members of the public, who will take a key role supporting Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in the delivery of outpatient rehabilitation services, including exercise classes and hydrotherapy. Under direct guidance from qualified therapists and with appropriate training, the post holder will facilitate and implement rehabilitation and assist in equipment assessment and provision. Experience of working in an acute hospital setting and/or the health and fitness sector would be of benefit. You will ideally have at least 2 years relevant employment or voluntary experience within a health, fitness, social care or community care setting.

Main duties of the job
Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Assistant Practitioner, you will be expected to:
o Provide support to the registered therapists in providing therapy interventions to patients in a variety of settings.
o Provide support to the registered therapists in the provision of equipment including to facilitate the ordering and delivery of equipment to patients via a computer system on behalf of therapist.
o Support Therapy staff with patient related administrative duties.
o Assist in stock control.
o Use a person-centred approach to therapeutic activities with patients, following guidelines and protocols promoting the independence of patients to a level that is consistent with their abilities, preferences and cultural beliefs.
