Job Description
United Living is looking for a Senior Environmental Advisor, to work with our clients across the South East of the country. This varied role will provide plenty of opportunity for growth but will require regular travel.
In this role, you will support the implementation of our Policies and Strategies to deliver legislative compliance and promote continuous improvement in environmental management. Leading the environmental agenda for the organization as a trusted advocate, by providing visible leadership, specialist advice, coaching, and engagement to support the business.
1. Evaluate, improve and develop environmental management systems processes and procedures.
2. Liaison with external parties and regulators, such as the Environmental Agency.
3. Oversee all Environmental data, in line with internal and external reports requirements.
4. Develop meaningful strategies to continually promote a positive step change in all aspects of environmental management and behaviours.
5. Supporting our net zero ambition for our business and customers.
6. Provide specialist advice on all business environmental aspects and impacts, e.g., waste, water management, permits, and licences.
7. Lead on our 14001 accreditation.
8. Supporting environmental internal and external audits.
9. Assisting in any significant environmental incident investigations that may occur.
10. Benchmark externally, seeking out areas of best practice and continual improvement.
Qualifications
1. National Grid / Cadent / SGN experience desirable.
2. Have exceptional knowledge of environmental legislation and applied controls.
3. Experience in providing environmental advice in both office and field workforce environments.
4. The ability to demonstrate experience in design, build and improve environmental management systems in line with 14001.
5. Possess excellent stakeholder management attributes with the ability and confidence to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
6. Courage and confidence to challenge issues and behaviours.
7. The ability to convey complex information in a simple, effective and plain language.
8. Attention to detail, with the ability to work to strict timely deadlines.
