JOB DESCRIPTION Title: Domestic Worker Salary: £11.55 per hour Hours: 15 hours per week Monday – Friday ( Due to the nature of the post some evenings and weekend work may be necessary) Preferably a morning start. Responsible to: Housing Services Manager Location: YMCA Aelfgar House, Church Street, Rugeley, WS15 2WH Background: YMCA Black Country Group is a group of YMCA charitable companies & associated trading subsidiaries (“the Association”) operating in the Black Country and South Staffordshire area. Job role: · Undertake cleaning and domestic duties of all public areas, offices, domestic flats when void and communal areas that include: - · Emptying waste bins or similar receptacles, transporting waste material to refuse collection point. · Sweeping floors with brushes or dust control mops · Mopping floors with wet or damp mops · Vacuum clean carpeted areas and “spot” cleaning carpets · Dust, damp wipe, wash or polish the furniture, ledges, window sills, external surfaces of: - cupboards, radiators, shelves and fitments. · Replenish consumable items (soap, toilet rolls, paper towels) · Clean toilets, hand basins and sinks · Undertake wall washing or inside window pane cleaning as necessary · Washing any laundry required. · Ensure that cleaning equipment is maintained and adequate materials are available at the beginning of each shift. · Cleaning Void Flats ready for new occupant including removing any rubbish, cleaning the bathroom and toilet, cleaning the fridge, hoovering the floor and make up beds. · Report all breakages, defects and areas of concern to the Manager · Complete record sheets in line with procedures. · Carry out all reasonable duties as required by the Manager. · Undertake minor maintenance tasks if required (e.g. painting, change light bulbs etc which will include use of step ladders). · Support and encourage residents and staff to keep rooms and areas clean and tidy. · Be prepared to work at other locations as necessary. · Complete Health and Safety checks of the communal areas and accommodation.
