Reporting to the Associate Editor at Inside Soap, the successful candidate will assist the features team with writing and prepping content primarily for Inside Soap magazine and its related channels, but also the wider entertainment portfolio. In the editorial assistant part of the role, you’ll be supporting the team with key admin duties, including transcription, travel booking, running competitions, and dealing with reader correspondence. Good knowledge of the main UK soaps essential. ABOUT THE ROLE Key Responsibilities: Contribute to the magazine and wider brand activity and subsidiary projects; including but not limited to newsletters, bookazines, specials, audio and online content, and live events. Schedule, collate and prep contents for soap channel social media, online and newsletters. Write a range of regular magazine features as directed by the editor. Conduct interviews for several features per week; transcribing and then writing up composite features for the magazine Ensure the smooth running of the editorial office in support of the Editor and team. Organise and maintain the Inside Soap storyline and content archive. Make travel arrangements for photo shoots and events. Distribute post. Reply to reader correspondence. Send out prizes to competition winners. Process cash prizes for competition winners Be an ambassador of Hearst UK and its values. You may be required to undertake such further duties as your skills, qualifications and experience allow and/or as may be assigned to you from time to time. ABOUT YOU Confident and accurate writing style Knowledge of TV and soaps in particular Established contacts within the soap industry.
