Job Description:
Progressive GE and a Global Engineering OEM in Concept Mechanical Systems are looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Analysis Engineer for their Engineering & Manufacturing HQ near Wolverhampton, owing to significant business growth and project pipeline for 2024-2026.
Based in Wolverhampton and reporting into the Head of Substantiation & Analysis, the Senior Mechanical Analysis Engineer will be responsible for:
1. Delivery of Analysis packages of specific elements or the entire scope of projects, dependent on size/complexity of the work scope.
2. Delivery of technically compliant design deliverables in accordance with the Design Input Requirements within budget and programme constraints.
3. Leading a team of Analysis Engineers and designers to deliver the appropriate solution from Front End Engineering to Detailed Design production.
4. Providing Engineering Support to manufacture right through to client handover.
5. Preparing calculations, reports, tender proposals and estimates, recommendations for approval.
Specifically, the Senior Mechanical Analysis Engineer will:
1. Carry out defined calculations to determine the acceptability of a structural or mechanical component to a specified code/standard.
2. Undertake analysis & calculations, particularly the design and analysis of mechanical plant & systems, mechanisms and structures.
3. Write and check calculations and FE reports.
Experience Required for Senior Mechanical Analysis Engineer role:
1. Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar).
2. Design and analysis experience of mechanical mechanisms and structures.
3. Conversant with 3D CAD software, Pro-Engineer or AutoCAD/Inventor.
4. Industrial experience in finite element analysis & classical stress analysis.
5. Broad experience comprising static, dynamic (vibration, modal, seismic) and non-linear analysis.
6. Good understanding of strength of engineering materials.
7. Proficient in the use of ANSYS (Classic or Workbench) / MathCad / StaadPro.
8. Understands and works to the right first time culture and contributes to cease the flow of issues downstream.
For the successful Senior Mechanical Analysis Engineer, a salary of up to £65k and benefits package is on offer. This role is commutable from Wolverhampton, West Brom, Birmingham, Telford, Cannock, Stafford, Stourbridge & Dudley.
