We are looking for a Deputy Head of Nursing for Urgent & Emergency Care at University Hospitals Northamptonshire (UHN)—an exciting opportunity to lead, influence, and shape high-quality, safe, and patient-centred care in a fast-paced environment.
As Deputy Head of Nursing, you will provide clinical and professional leadership across Urgent & Emergency Care services, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to drive improvements. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective patient care, upholding the highest standards of clinical practice. The role involves leading on quality, patient experience, workforce development, and operational performance, ensuring that our services meet national and local priorities.
You will support the Head of Nursing in strategic and operational decision-making, working collaboratively across UHN. Innovation and transformation will be key to this role, as you embed best practice and improve patient pathways. As a visible and supportive leader, you will develop and empower teams to excel in emergency care delivery.
We are seeking an experienced nursing leader with significant experience in Urgent & Emergency Care and a proven track record of leading service improvements. Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills are essential, along with a commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and staff development. You will need the ability to work under pressure, make sound clinical and operational decisions, and drive continuous improvement.
This is an opportunity to be part of a progressive and ambitious healthcare organisation committed to delivering outstanding emergency care. You will work alongside passionate and skilled professionals in a fast-moving and supportive environment, with opportunities for professional development and career progression within a forward-thinking and innovative Trust.
